Project Overview
A Hospitality Interior With a Journey at Its Core
Dakshya Indian Cuisine is a London restaurant project built around the idea of travel, memory, and arrival. The interior combines the romance of Indian railway journeys with the operational clarity of a contemporary dining room, creating a warm, immersive setting for guests without overwhelming the service flow.
CGI Axis developed the visual presentation to show how the design works as a complete hospitality experience: the storefront invitation, the reception moment, the bar, the dining rhythm, and the intimate material details that carry the restaurant identity.
Story / Concept
Indian Railway Nostalgia Reframed for London
The concept draws from vintage railway graphics, luggage, brass fittings, timber carriages, and the layered atmosphere of travel. Rather than becoming themed decoration, those references are translated into architectural details: ribbed timber ceilings, green leather seating, brass rails, framed poster art, patterned screens, and warm pendant lighting. The result is a restaurant that feels narrative-led, tactile, and commercially refined.
Design Approach
Atmosphere Built From Repeated Detail
The approach focused on consistency across views. Every angle carries the same visual language: warm timber overhead, deep green seating, brass light and trim, terracotta flooring, planted softness, and railway references used as curated identity points.
- Preserved a clear guest journey from frontage and reception through to dining and bar zones.
- Used lighting to balance hospitality warmth with realistic material depth.
- Enhanced the renders for stronger reflections, texture, shadow definition, and photographic realism.
- Kept the railway-inspired brand story consistent across signage, artwork, luggage display, and decorative screening.
